Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are “among the most vulnerable to COVID-19 infections.” The American Lung Association warns that “people with asthma and other lung diseases [such as COPD] are at increased risk for serious complications from COVID-19.” In an analysis of COVID-19 patients by doctors at Weifang Medical University in China, COPD has been found to be a major risk factor for patients with COVID-19.
